MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT KAMERUNGA BRIDGE EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Moderate to heavy rainfall in the Barron River catchment since Friday has caused creek and river level rises. Minor flooding is likely at Kamerunga Bridge during early Sunday afternoon.
Further showers are forecast for the next few days. The situation is being monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Barron River downstream of Barron Falls:
Minor flooding is occurring at Mareeba, Bilwon and Myola. Minor flooding is likely along the Barron River downstream of Barron Falls.
The Barron River at Kamerunga Bridge is currently at 4.11 m AHD and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Barron River at Kamerunga Bridge is likely to reach around the minor flood level (5.00 m AHD) early Sunday afternoon.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
