Final Flood Warning For The Upper Victoria River

KALKARINDJI PEAKED BELOW THE MINOR FLOOD LEVEL EARLY SUNDAY MORNING
Moderate to heavy rainfall since Saturday has resulted in significant river level rises along the Upper Victoria River at Kalkarindji where the river peaked below the minor flood level early Sunday morning.
Further moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over the next few days which may cause renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be issued as required.
Upper Victoria River:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Upper Victoria River at Kalkarindji.
The Victoria River at Kalkarindji peaked around 7.00 m early Sunday morning and is currently at 6.60 m and falling, below the minor flood level (9.00 m).
The Victoria River at Kalkarindji is expected to remain below the minor flood level for the next few days.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
