Severe thunderstorms are no longer affecting Canberra and Queanbeyan. This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check https://www.bom.gov.au/weather-and-climate/warnings-and-alerts/.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning remains current for parts of the Illawarra, South Coast, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory districts.
No further warnings will be issued for this event.
