Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Canberra
for Canberra and Queanbeyan.

Earlier very dangerous thunderstorms have moved east of Canberra. Thunderstorms have temporarily eased over Canberra, although further thunderstorms and showers are expected.
Warning for the following areas:

Severe thunderstorms in the warning area have temporarily eased. However, the redevelopment of severe thunderstorms with heavy, possibly intense rainfall remains possible. The situation is being closely monitored and further detailed warnings will be issued as necessary.
39.0 MM WAS RECORDED AT BREDBO IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 3:03 PM.
28.6 mm was recorded at Burra Creek in the 30 minutes to 2:04 pm.
28.6 mm was recorded at Tinderry (Queanbeyan River) in the 30 minutes to 1:30 pm.
23.4 mm was recorded at Jerangle in the 30 minutes to 1:02 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Australian Capital Territory and parts of the Hunter, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Snowy Mountains, Central West Slopes and Plains and Riverina districts.
Other warnings may be current.
The next warning is due to be issued by 4:10 pm.
