MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AROUND WESTWOOD BRIDGE FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING
Moderate flooding is expected along the lower Meander River about Westwood Bridge overnight Tuesday due to floodwater from the South Esk River. Major flooding may develop Wednesday morning. No flooding is expected along the Meander River from Meander to Strathbridge.
Since 9 am Tuesday, no significant rainfall has been observed in the Meander catchment. No significant rainfall has been forecast for the remainder of Tuesday into Wednesday.
Inundation of low-lying areas about Westwood Bridge may be a hazard.
Meander River below Strathbridge:
Major flooding may occur along the Meander River below Strathbridge.
The Meander River at Westwood Bridge is currently at 4.98 metres and rising, with minor flooding.
The Meander River at Westwood Bridge is expected to exceed the moderate flood level (6.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. The river level may peak around the major flood level (7.00 m) Wednesday morning.
