RENEWED FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTH WEST QUEENSLAND
A trough remains slow moving over parts of the interior of Queensland, drawing tropical moisture southward and enhancing rainfall in its vicinity. The inland trough is expected to shift back to the west of the state on Thursday and Friday, and remain in the southwest for most of this weekend.
Catchments within the Flood Watch area are relatively dry but wetting up in areas of rainfall over the last few days.
Showers tending to rain, and the chance of thunderstorms with locally heavy falls, are forecast across the Flood Watch area over the next few days.
Renewed river level rises and minor riverine flooding are possible within the Flood Watch area, with isolated moderate flooding possible, which may cause disruption to transport and isolation of communities.

Bulloo River (QLD)
Thomson River
Cooper Creek
Diamantina River

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BARALABA FROM OVERNIGHT THURSDAY
Heavy rain overnight Wednesday into Thursday has produced river level rises along the Dawson River, with minor flooding likely at Baralaba from overnight Thursday into Friday.
Rainfall totals of up to 103 mm were recorded in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Thursday across the Dawson River catchment.
Showers are forecast for the reminder of Thursday across the Dawson River catchment. No significant rainfall is forecast for the coming days.
Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding is likely along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore.
River level observations are currently unavailable at the Baralaba gauge. Based on observations from the nearby TM gauge, the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level and rising.
The Dawson River at Baralaba is likely to reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) from overnight Thursday into Friday.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TAEMAS LATE THURSDAY
Heavy rain across the Cape River catchment has caused river level rises and minor flooding is possible at Taemas late Thursday.
Up to 72 mm has been recorded in the Cape River catchment in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Thursday.
Showers and possible storms are forecast during Thursday and Friday. No significant rainfall totals are expected.
Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is possible along the Cape River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Cape River at Taemas is currently at 4.46 metres and steady.
The Cape River at Taemas may peak around the minor flood level (5.00 m) late Thursday.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Upper Flinders River

MODERATE FLOODING HAS PEAKED AT RICHMOND OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY
Recent rainfall has resulted in river level rises through the upper parts of the Flinders catchment.
Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast during the next few days which may cause further river level rises. The situation is being monitored and warnings will be updated if required.
Flinders River to Richmond:
Moderate flooding has peaked and is easing along the Flinders River at Richmond.
The Flinders River at Richmond peaked at 6.20 metres around 06:00 pm Wednesday 27 March, and at 6:00 am Thursday the water level was at 6.20 metres and expected to be falling, above the moderate flood level (6.00 m).
The Flinders River at Richmond is expected to fall below the moderate flood level (6.00 m) during Thursday. The river level is likely to remain above the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Friday.
Flinders River downstream of Richmond:
River level rises are expected along the Flinders River downstream of Richmond over the next few days as the floodwater moves downstream.

MINOR FLOODING CONTINUING AT RETREAT
No significant rainfall has been recorded in the Barcoo River catchment in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Wednesday. River and creek level rises are occurring throughout the upper catchments, with minor flooding occurring at Retreat.
Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days, which may cause further river level rises. A Flood Watch is current for South West Queensland, including the Thomson, Barcoo, and Cooper catchments. The situation is being monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Barcoo River downstream of Isisford:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Barcoo River downstream of Isisford.
The Barcoo River at Retreat is currently at 2.50 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (2.14 m).
The Barcoo River at Retreat is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.14 m) for the next few days.

FLOOD LEVELS ARE ABOVE THE DIAMANTINA LAKES CAUSEWAY
Rainfall over the last several days has caused river level rises across the upper Diamantina and Western River catchments. Minor flooding is occurring along the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes. River levels are likely to remain elevated over the next several days.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to continue for the next few days but significant rainfall totals are not expected.
Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes. The river level is currently at 2.58 metres which is just above the level of the causeway on the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road (2.10 m).
