Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Ipswich, Gympie, Somerset, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City, Moreton Bay and Logan Council Areas.

Slow moving severe storms with heavy rainfall continue between Brisbane and Ipswich.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Ipswich, Gympie, Logan, Somerset, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:30 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Jimna and Mount Kilcoy. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect Ipswich, Redbank Plains, Amberley, Enoggera Reservoir, Conondale and the area west of Conondale by 3:00 pm and Wacol, Enoggera, Maleny, Mapleton and the area northwest of Mapleton by 3:30 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Southeast Coast and Central Highlands and Coalfields districts.
Other warnings may be current.
The next warning is due to be issued by 3:35 pm.
