MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT BIRDSVILLE FROM SUNDAY
The flood peak is currently passing through Roseberth. This will approach Birdsville from Sunday, where the river is likely to exceed the moderate flood level. River levels upstream are steady at Durrie Station, and are continuing to ease at Monkira.
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Major flooding is occurring at Roseberth Station. Minor flooding is occurring at Monkira, Durrie and Birdsville.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 5.40 m and rising slowly, with minor flooding.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (6.00 m) from Sunday. A peak above the moderate flood level is expected from early next week.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
