RENEWED RISES OCCURRING AT BARALABA, MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY
Recent storms have caused renewed river level rises along the Dawson River between Theodore and Baralaba. Minor flooding may develop at Baralaba overnight Friday into Saturday. Showers and storms are forecast over the next few days, which may result in further river level rises over the weekend.
Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding is possible along the Dawson River at Baralaba.
No observations are currently available for the Dawson River at Baralaba (manual gauge), however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m) and rising slowly.
The Dawson River at Baralaba may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Friday into Saturday.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
