MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WINDORAH FROM OVERNIGHT TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY
MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT LONGREACH AND STONEHENGE
A renewed moderate flood peak was observed early Sunday morning at Longreach. Further downstream at Stonehenge, river levels are slowly rising above the moderate flood level. River levels are expected to remain above the moderate flood level for the next few days, with further rises possible.
Along the Barcoo River, the main peak is approaching Retreat, where minor flooding is occurring and is expected to continue for the next few days.
Along the Cooper Creek, renewed moderate flooding is occurring at Windorah (Main Channel) and major flooding is possible from overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive from the Thomson and Barcoo Rivers.
Peak forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
In the lower Cooper Creek catchment, moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded in the last few days which has caused minor to moderate flooding along the lower Cooper Creek and its tributaries.
Thomson River:
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Thomson River and its tributaries.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is currently at 3.85 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.00 m) for the next few days. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 4.76 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Thomson River at Longreach is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.30 m) for the next few days.
No observations are currently available for the Thomson River at Stonehenge. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) and rising.

MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ALONG THE DIAMANTINA RIVER AT BIRDSVILLE LATER THIS WEEK
Significant rainfall was observed across the Diamantina catchment during last week that has resulted in rapid river level rises. Elevated river levels are occurring downstream of Diamantina Lakes on the Diamantina River, with a moderate peak occurring around Diamantina Lakes.
Along the Diamantina River at Birdsville moderate flooding is occurring. A second flood peak is downstream of Monkira and is expected to reach Birdsville from later this week. As flows arrive from upstream, major flooding at Birdsville is possible later this week.
Moderate rainfall is forecast over the next couple days in the lower catchment, which may contribute to further river level rises. This warning will be updated as required.
Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
The Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes is currently at 5.72 m and steady, above the moderate flood level (4.00 m) and well above the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway level (2.10 m).
Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Roseberth and Birdsville. Minor flooding is occurring at Monkira and Durrie Station.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station is currently at 7.10 m and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville Police Station may reach around the major flood level (8.00 m) later this week. Renewed rises are possible as upstream flows arrive. Peak forecasts will be provided as upstream peaks are observed.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT HALIFAX WITH RENEWED RISES POSSIBLE LATER THIS WEEK
Heavy rainfall overnight Sunday into Monday has resulted in rapid river level rises and flooding across the lower Herbert River catchment, with the highest totals recorded around Abergowrie. Rainfall has eased with moderate flood peaks observed at Abergowrie Bridge, Ingham and Gairloch on Monday. A major flood peak was also observed at Halifax Monday evening, with minor flooding now occurring. A below minor peak is likely at Gleneagle Homestead Tuesday afternoon.
Further showers, storms and heavy rainfall are forecast from Thursday and into the weekend, which may lead to renewed river level rises and flooding. The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is no longer expected at Gleneagle Homestead.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level and steady.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to peak below the minor flood level (4.50 m) Tuesday afternoon. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rain later this week.
Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing at Halifax.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge peaked at 10.02 m around 11:30 am Monday, with moderate flooding. The river is currently at 5.37 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is likely to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Tuesday and into Wednesday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rain later this week.
The Herbert River at Ingham Pump Station peaked at 11.39 m around 05:00 pm Monday, with moderate flooding. The river is currently at 8.14 m and falling, below the minor flood level.

The main flood peak along the Flinders River has moved downstream of Etta Plains and is approaching Walkers Bend. The flood peak along the Cloncurry River is passing through Canobie, upstream of its junction with the Flinders River.
River levels are slowly rising along the lower Flinders River at Walkers Bend, where major flooding is likely from Wednesday into Thursday, as floodwaters from both the Cloncurry and Flinders rivers arrive.

Elevated river levels are occurring along the Flinders River downstream of Richmond. Major flooding is likely at Walkers Bend.
