Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning
for Daly and Arnhem districts.

Heavy rainfall about the western Top End has eased. The situation continues to be closely monitored.
Weather Situation
A tropical low is positioned about the southwest Arnhem district, embedded within a trough extending into the Carpentaria district. The low is expected to remain slow-moving over the next 24 hours as it gradually weakens,
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
Daly and Arnhem
This warning is now cancelled.
155.5 mm of rainfall was recorded at Theyona Station in the 6 hours to 3:46 pm.
111 mm of rainfall was recorded at Birdie Creek in the 6 hours to 7:16 am.
104 mm of rainfall was recorded at Edith Falls Ridge in the 6 hours to 7:21 am.
The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should:
* pull over if it is raining heavily and you cannot see, park with your hazard lights on until the rain clears
* avoid driving into water of unknown depth and current
* stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways
* stay away from fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live
