Minor To Moderate Flood Warning For The Barwon River

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT MUNGINDI
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT MOGIL MOGIL FRIDAY
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Barwon River at Mungindi as floodwaters arrive from the Weir River (QLD) and Macintyre River.
Upstream along the Weir River, a second and higher peak passed Talwood on Sunday 14 April. This peak, combined with floodwaters from the Macintyre River, may cause prolonged moderate flooding at Mungindi.
Further downstream, minor flooding is possible at Mogil Mogil around Friday.
A moderate flood warning is current for the Weir River (QLD).

Barwon River Mungindi to Collarenebri:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Barwon River Mungindi to Collarenebri.
The Barwon River at Mungindi is currently at 6.80 metres and rising, with moderate flooding.
The river level may peak near 6.90 metres around Thursday, with moderate flooding.

The Barwon River at Mogil Mogil is currently at 6.47 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (7.50 m).
The Barwon River at Mogil Mogil may reach the minor flood level (7.50 m) around Friday.

* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}
