    for East Gippsland and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.
    
    Issued at 8:48 pm Sunday, 14 December 2025.
    
    Damaging winds that affects parts of Gippsland during the afternoon have now eased.
    
    Weather Situation
    A vigorous southwesterly flow following a cold front that generated damaging wind gusts in the afternoon has contracted eastward over Bass Strait, easing winds over Gippsland.

     100 km/h gust observed at Bairnsdale at 4:37 pm.
    
    The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
     * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
     * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
     * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
    
    No further warnings will be issued for this event.
