    Warning for the following areas:
    Northern Country, North East, East Gippsland, West and South Gippsland and North Central
    
    Safety Advice:
     Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
     Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
     Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
     If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
    
    Maximum temperatures in the low to high thirties, reaching the low forties about northern districts on Thursday and Friday. Overnight minimum temperatures in the mid to high teens, reaching up to around twenty degrees about the central north from Thursday night. 
    
    Severe heatwave conditions are developing and are expected to peak on Thursday and Friday before easing into the weekend from the south as milder southeast to southwesterly winds extend across the State.  Locations likely to be impacted include Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Bright, Corryong, Echuca, Mansfield, Shepparton, Seymour, Wangaratta and Yarrawonga.
    
    The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EDT on Thursday 18 December 2025
