Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
North Central, North East, South West and Central forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and northerly winds are expected during Tuesday and Wednesday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the North Central, North East, South West and Central forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
Cancellation of Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Wimmera, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts
The Warning to Sheep Graziers for the Wimmera, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts has been cancelled.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EST Tuesday.

Severe Weather Warning
for Damaging Winds

for parts of East Gippsland, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds with blizzard conditions about Alpine areas, easing tonight.

Weather Situation
Vigorous north to northwesterly winds developed ahead of a cold front which is crossing Victoria today. It is currently positioned through central districts and is expected to track into the northeast of the state this evening, with conditions easing in its wake.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
East Gippsland, North East and West and South Gippsland
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts around 100 km/h are possible about alpine areas above 1200 metres in the late afternoon and early evening. BLIZZARD conditions are also possible during this time.
Conditions are expected to ease below warning thresholds during the evening.
Locations which may be affected include Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Central, South West, North Central and Wimmera districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
111 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mt Hotham at 2:19 pm, with sustained 72 km/h winds at 11:30 am.
109 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mt Buller Airport at 11:23 am, with sustained 76 km/h winds at 11:30 am.
Sustained 63 km/h winds were recorded at Falls Creek at 11:00 am
Sustained 65 km/h winds were recorded at Kilmore Gap at 5:30 am.
102 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount William at 1:42 am, with sustained 65 km/h winds at 2:00 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Be aware - heat, fire or recent storms may make trees unstable and more likely to fall when it's windy or wet.
* Check that loose items, such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured. Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
* Stay indoors and away from windows.
* If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways.
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. Heavy rainfall may also increase the potential for landslides and debris across roads.
* Stay informed: Monitor weather warnings, forecasts and river levels at the Bureau of Meteorology website, and warnings through VicEmergency website/app/hotline.

The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Tuesday.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
