for Central, South West and Wimmera fire weather districts

Weather Situation
Very hot and dry conditions with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder southwest to southerly change developing in the southwest in the early afternoon then extending across western and central districts in the late afternoon and evening.

For the rest of Wednesday 07 January:
Extreme Fire Danger for the following areas:
Central, South West and Wimmera

The CFA advises that you:
Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now.
Monitor the fire and weather situation through ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV, www.emergency.vic.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au.
Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.

In the south, maximum temperatures in the mid thirties to low forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid teens, increasing to high teens to low twenties in the southeast by Thursday.

Severe to Extreme heatwave conditions forecast to ease from the southwest with a cooler change over the weekend. Locations likely to be impacted include Melbourne Metropolitan Area, Albury-Wodonga, Ballarat, Bendigo, Horsham, Mildura, Melton, Maryborough, Seymour and Shepparton.
