Warning to Sheep Graziers

for West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, heavy rain and showers and southwesterly winds are expected during Wednesday and Thursday. Areas likely to be affected include the East Gippsland forecast district and parts of the West and South Gippsland forecast district. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EST Wednesday.

for East Gippsland, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Issued at 3:45 pm Wednesday, 2 July 2025.

Damaging winds have eased over the northeast alpine area.

This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/warnings/.
107 km/h gust was recorded at Mt Buller at 11:20 pm.
111 km/h gust was recorded at Mt Hotham at 9:31 pm.
93 km/h gust was recorded at Falls Creek at 10:48 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.
* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
