Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West, Central and West and South Gippsland forecast districts
Frosts with temperatures down to -1 degrees are forecast for Friday morning in parts of the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West, Central and West and South Gippsland forecast districts.

Major Flood Warning For The Mitchell River

GLENALADALE LIKELY TO PEAK NEAR THE MAJOR FLOOD LEVEL LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON
Moderate to heavy rainfall since Tuesday morning has caused river level rises and flooding across the Mitchell River catchment. Moderate flooding is rising at Glenaladale, with a peak near the major flood level likely late Thursday afternoon. Minor flooding is occurring at Bairnsdale, where a minor flood peak is expected overnight Thursday into Friday.
No further significant rainfall is expected over the next few days.
The situation will continue to be monitored closely and this warning will be updated as required.

Wonnangatta River:
River level rises and isolated minor flooding are occurring along the Wonnangatta River.
Mitchell River to Glenaladale:
Major flooding is likely along the Mitchell River at Glenaladale.
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is currently at 5.40 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is likely to peak near the major flood level (5.50 m) late Thursday afternoon.

Mitchell River downstream of Glenaladale:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Mitchell River downstream of Glenaladale.
The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale is currently at 5.67 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale may reach around 6.20 m overnight Thursday into Friday, with minor flooding.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG THE AVON RIVER AT STRATFORD
Moderate to heavy rainfall since Tuesday has caused river level rises along the Avon River. Minor flooding is occurring at Stratford.
Further rainfall is forecast across the catchment during the remainder of Thursday, however significant rainfall totals are not expected. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as necessary.

Avon River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Avon River at Stratford.

The Avon River at Stratford is currently at 5.42 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Avon River at Stratford may reach around 5.80 m Thursday evening, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible.
