Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
King Island, North West Coast, Central North, Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, heavy rain and showers and southwesterly winds are expected during Wednesday. Areas likely to be affected include the North West Coast, Midlands and South East forecast districts and parts of the King Island, Central North, East Coast and Upper Derwent Valley forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 5:00 am EDT Wednesday.

Initial Minor Flood Warning For The South Esk River
Issued at 04:48 PM AEDT on Tuesday 21 October 2025
Flood Warning Number: 1

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT FINGAL, LEWIS HILL AND LLEWELLYN FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING WITH FORECAST RAINFALL
Moderate to locally heavy rainfall is forecast across the South Esk catchment from Wednesday into Thursday. The catchment is wet following recent rainfall. River level rises are expected, and minor flooding is possible along the South Esk River at Fingal and Llewellyn, and along the St Pauls River at Lewis Hill from Wednesday evening
The situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

St Pauls River:
Minor flooding is possible along the St Pauls Rivers.
The St Pauls River at Lewis Hill is currently at 0.32 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The St Pauls River at Lewis Hill may exceed the minor flood level (1.70 m) Wednesday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

South Esk River - Fingal to Llewellyn:
Minor flooding is possible along the South Esk River.
The South Esk River at Fingal is currently at 2.10 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The South Esk River at Fingal may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Wednesday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

The South Esk River at Llewellyn is currently at 1.63 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The South Esk River at Llewellyn may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Wednesday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

WITH FORECAST RAINFALL MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT CORRA LINN WEDNESDAY EVENING
Widespread moderate rainfall totals are forecast for the North Esk River catchment during Wednesday. River level rises are expected and minor flooding is possible from Wednesday evening.

Lower North Esk River around Corra Linn:
Minor flooding likely along the Lower North Esk River
The North Esk River at Corra Linn is currently at 1.86 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
With forecast rainfall the North Esk River at Corra Linn may reach around the minor flood level (2.70 m) Wednesday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
