FLOODWATERS RECEEDING SLOWLY AT INNAMINCKA CAUSEWAY
Along the Warburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole, river levels remain elevated and continue to fall slowly. Floodwaters from the Warburton River are reaching southern parts of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and will continue to flow into Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre for several weeks.
Along Cooper Creek at Walkers Crossing and Coongie Lakes, creek levels remain elevated and continue to fall slowly.
Floodwaters may cut roads and access tracks, and in particular river crossings, impacting travel in the region.
Warburton:
River levels remain elevated along the Warburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole, where the river level is currently around 3.90 metres and falling slowly.
Cooper Creek:
Creek levels remain elevated along the Cooper Creek at Cullyamurra Waterhole, where the creek level is currently at 2.45 metres and falling slowly. It is estimated that the water level at Innamincka is around 0.5 metres above the causeway.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
