Severe Weather Warning
for Damaging Winds
for Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and parts of Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and North East Pastoral districts.
Issued at 10:42 pm Monday, 7 July 2025.
Damaging winds developing about southern coasts and elevated areas early Tuesday morning.
Weather Situation
An approaching cold front is expected to bring damaging northwest to westerly winds from early Tuesday morning, easing by late afternoon.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and North East Pastoral
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of up to 100 km/h are expected to develop about the Mount Lofty Ranges in the early hours of Tuesday morning, before extending throughout the rest of the warning area around sunrise.
Winds are forecast to ease about the coastal areas, including Kangaroo Island, in the early afternoon. Winds about the elevated areas are expected to ease by late afternoon.
Locations which may be affected include Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Victor Harbor, Meningie, Jamestown and Burra.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 am ACST Tuesday.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
