Severe Weather Warning
for Damaging Winds
for Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Murraylands, Riverland and North East Pastoral districts.

Damaging wind gusts expected to continue over southern areas today.
Weather Situation
A cold front ahead of a complex low in the Bight is bringing a vigorous west to northwesterly flow about southern parts of South Australia today. Winds will then shift westerly behind the front tonight.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and North East Pastoral
Strong west to northwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible about Kangaroo Island, southern Yorke Peninsula and the Mount Lofty Ranges for the remainder of today. Winds will then become westerly with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h possible over inland areas in the southeast and about the southern Flinders Ranges during the afternoon.
Damaging winds may weaken below thresholds during this evening, before another burst of possible DAMAGING WIND GUSTS moves through the southeast early Wednesday morning, including Adelaide.
Damaging winds are then forecast to ease throughout the warning area by late Wednesday morning or early afternoon.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Naracoorte and Keith.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Lower Eyre Peninsula district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
91 km/h wind gust was recorded at The Limestone at 7:50 am.
102 km/h wind gust was recorded at Neptune Island at 12:26 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 pm ACST Tuesday.
