for North East Pastoral and parts of Flinders and North West Pastoral districts.
Issued at 4:32 pm Friday, 6 February 2026.
Heavy rainfall is expected to develop over the pastoral districts during the weekend.
Weather Situation
A humid tropical airmass will spread across northern parts of the state over the weekend. This will combine with a surface trough and an approaching upper level system to produce widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast of the state from Saturday morning and continuing throughout Sunday.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Flinders, North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast to develop about the pastoral districts and northern parts of the Flinders district from Saturday morning. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 20 and 50 mm are likely with localised totals up to 75 mm possible with thunderstorm activity.
Conditions are likely to begin to ease from the west during late Sunday evening or Monday morning.
Flash flooding may make roads impassable through northeastern parts of the state.
Locations which may be affected include Leigh Creek, Moomba, Oodnadatta, Marree, Dalhousie Springs and Arkaroola.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water;
