for Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Maranoa and Warrego and Channel Country Forecast Districts.

Heavy rainfall continuing about parts of inland Queensland this evening.
Weather Situation
A moist and unstable environment combines with a surface trough through inland parts of the state to produce severe thunderstorms this evening.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Winton, Barcaldine, Hughenden, Richmond, Julia Creek and Gregory Springs.
56 mm was recorded at Mahrigong in the 30 minutes to 7:07 pm.
45 mm was recorded at Joylands in the 1 hour to 6:25 pm.
95 mm was recorded at Muttaburra in the 3 hours to 9.15 pm
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
The next warning is due to be issued by 1:35 am Sunday.
