Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Heavy Rainfall And Large Hailstones
for parts of Ipswich, Gympie, Somerset, Southern Downs, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

Slow moving severe storms with heavy rainfall continue between Brisbane and Ipswich.
HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Ipswich, Gympie, Somerset, Southern Downs, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:50 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones were detected near Brisbane CBD, Ipswich, Jimna, Enoggera and the area north of Woodford. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect Lake Manchester, Peachester, Crohamhurst, Maleny, Conondale and the area between Inglewood and Millmerran by 3:20 pm and Upper Brookfield, Enoggera Reservoir, Mount Nebo, Aspley, Albany Creek and Landsborough by 3:50 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts.
Other warnings may be current.
The next warning is due to be issued by 3:55 pm.
