Minor Flood Warning For The Mulgrave And Russell Rivers

MINOR FLOODING CONTINUES AT PEETS BRIDGE AND GORDONVALE
In the 24 hours to 4:00 pm Friday, rainfall totals of up to 120 mm were recorded across the Mulgrave and Russell catchments. A flood peak has now passed Peets Bridge and Gordonvale, where minor flooding is easing.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment for the remainder of Friday into Saturday, before easing during Sunday. This situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as necessary.
Mulgrave River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Mulgrave River.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge peaked at 6.71 metres around 01:00 pm Friday afternoon and is currently at 5.65 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is expected to fall below the minor flood level (5.00 metres) overnight Friday into Saturday.
The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale peaked at 13.05 metres around 02:30 pm Friday afternoon and is currently at 12.85 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale is expected to fall below the minor flood level (12.00 metres) overnight Friday into Saturday.
Russell River:
River levels are easing along the Russell River.
