Issued at 4:52 pm Wednesday, 2 July 2025.

Weather Situation
A vigorous west to southwesterly flow has developed about the Main Range and Scenic Rim in response to the rapid deepening of a low pressure system off the New South Wales coast.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts around 100 km/h are likely about the Main Range, Scenic Rim and adjacent eastwards slopes tonight and early Thursday.

Locations which may be affected include Springbrook, Mount Tamborine and Crows Nest.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.

* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
