Major Flood Warning For The Daly River

SIGNIFICANT AND PROLONGED MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT DALY RIVER POLICE STATION
Significant major flooding is occurring along the Daly River at Daly River Police Station, where the river level is expected to exceed 15.50 m Wednesday morning (above the 1957 flood levels), with further rises likely as upstream flows arrive. An extended peak and significant period of major flooding can be expected through to the weekend and into the next week.
The major flood peak along the Daly River has passed through Theyona station and is now moving towards Beeboom Crossing.
Further rainfall is possible over the next few days, which may exacerbate river levels. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Moderate Flood Warning is current for the Katherine River, and a Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Lower Daly River:
Major flooding is occurring along the Daly River.
No current observations are available along the Daly River Police Station. The river was at 14.97 m and rising slowly around 8:45 pm Monday, with major flooding. This is already above the February 2026 flood levels of 14.26 metres.
The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is expected to exceed 15.50 m Wednesday morning, with major flooding, higher than the 1957 flood levels of 15.19 metres. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ADELAIDE RIVER TOWN FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Heavy rainfall since Monday evening has caused river level rises along the Adelaide River at Adelaide River Town where minor flooding is possible from Tuesday afternoon.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Upper Adelaide River:
Minor flooding is possible along the Adelaide River at Adelaide River Town.
The Adelaide River at Adelaide River Town is currently at 10.39 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Adelaide River at Adelaide River Town may reach around the minor flood level (11.50 m) Tuesday afternoon. The river may remain around the minor flood level (11.50 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
