MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BESWICK BRIDGE FROM TUESDAY MORNING
River levels along the Waterhouse River are rising following rainfall since Monday afternoon. Moderate flooding is occurring at Beswick Bridge and major flooding is likely from Tuesday morning.
Widespread heavy falls are unlikely, but isolated heavier falls remain possible for the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Waterhouse River:
Major flooding is likely along the Waterhouse River.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 8.66 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is likely to exceed the major flood level (8.70 m) Tuesday morning. The river will remain around the major flood level (8.70 m) during Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Roper River below Elsey Creek:
River levels are elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Katherine River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT KATHERINE BRIDGE AND NITMILUK CENTRE, WITH RENEWED MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Minor flooding is occurring along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre where renewed river level rises are occurring. The river level may reach around the moderate flood level Tuesday afternoon. Further downstream at Katherine Bridge, minor flooding is occurring and renewed moderate flooding is possible Tuesday evening.
Widespread heavy falls are unlikely, but isolated heavier falls remain possible for the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Katherine River Gorge Road:
Moderate flooding is possible at Katherine River Gorge Road.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 4.88 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre may reach around the moderate flood level (5.50 m) Tuesday afternoon.

Katherine Town:
Minor flooding is occurring at Katherine Town.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge is currently at 16.17 m and falling, with minor flooding.
Renewed river level rises are possible at Katherine Bridge where the river level may reach around the moderate flood level (16.50 m) Tuesday evening.

Major Flood Warning For The Daly River

SIGNIFICANT AND PROLONGED MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT DALY RIVER POLICE STATION
Significant major flooding is occurring along the Daly River at Daly River Police Station, where the river level is expected to reach 15.30 m overnight Tuesday into Wednesday (above the 1957 flood levels), with further rises likely. An extended peak and significant period of major flooding can be expected through the weekend and into the following week.
The river level at Dorisvale Crossing is currently falling slowly following a peak of 24.39 m recorded at 08:30 am on Sunday.
Further rainfall is possible over the next few days, which may exacerbate river levels. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Moderate Flood Warning is current for the Katherine River, and a Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Daly River above Douglas River:
River levels are elevated along the upper Daly River, and flooding is expected to continue for at least the next few days.
Fergusson River:
River levels are elevated along the Fergusson River and tributaries.
Lower Daly River:
Major flooding is occurring along the Daly River.
The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 14.97 m and steady, with major flooding. This is already above the February 2026 flood level.
The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is expected to reach around 15.30 m overnight Tuesday into Wednesday with major flooding, higher than the 1957 flood levels of 15.19 metres. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive.
