for Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory Forecast Districts.

Isolated heavy rainfall possible in showers and thunderstorms.
Weather Situation
Very moist atmosphere ahead of an upper trough is resulting in isolated severe thunderstorms this evening.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Canberra.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central Tablelands, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
40 mm of rainfall fell at Newbridge (S of Orange) in the 2 hours to 6:46 pm.
43 mm of rainfall fell at Chifley Dam (S of Bathurst) in the 2 hours to 6:21 pm.
38 mm of rainfall fell at Bankstown Airport in the 30 minutes to 12:54 pm.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Central Tablelands,South West Slopes,Snowy Mountains
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
