MAJOR FLOODING CONTINUES TO FALL AT WEE WAA
MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT BUGILBONE SATURDAY MORNING AND POSSIBLE AT GOANGRA FROM EARLY NEXT WEEK
The main flood peak along the Namoi River passed through Wee Waa Thursday evening, where major flooding is now falling. Along the lower Namoi River, Bugilbone is expected to exceed the minor flood level late Friday afternoon and is likely to exceed the moderate flood level Saturday morning. Moderate flooding is possible at Goangra around Tuesday of next week.
Namoi River:
Minor to major flooding is occurring along the Namoi River.
The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri is currently at 5.71 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri may fall below the minor flood level (4.90 m) early Saturday morning.
The Namoi River at Glencoe Wee Waa peaked at 7.18 m Thursday evening, with major flooding. The river is currently at 7.11 m and falling slowly, with major flooding.
The Namoi River at Glencoe Wee Waa may fall below the major flood level (6.70 m) during Sunday.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone is currently at 4.89 m and rising slowly, just below the minor flood level.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone is expected to exceed the minor flood level (4.90 m) late Friday afternoon. The river is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (5.50 m) Saturday morning. The river may reach around 6.30 m during Sunday, with moderate flooding.
The Namoi River at Goangra is currently at 5.52 m and rising slowly, with minor flooding.
The Namoi River at Goangra may exceed the moderate flood level (6.70 m) around Tuesday 12 August. The river may reach around 7.50 m around Thursday 14 August, with moderate flooding.
