Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Metropolitan and North West Slopes and Plains
Cancellation for the following areas:
Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains and South Coast
Safety Advice:
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Maximum temperatures are in the mid to high thirties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid teens to mid twenties. Heatwave conditions are expected to continue to contract to the northeast of the State over the coming days.
Severe heatwave conditions have eased about the southern coastal areas and the central ranges. Maximum temperatures are in the mid to high twenties with overnight minimum temperatures ranging from around ten degrees across the central ranges to the mid teens closer to the coast. Low intensity heatwave conditions may still affect these areas over the coming days. Locations likely to be impacted include Sydney, Armidale, Grafton, Gosford, Hornsby, Lismore, Liverpool, Mona Vale, Richmond and Taree.
