for Mid North Coast, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Mid North Coast, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and southerly winds are expected during Thursday and Friday. Areas likely to be affected include the Snowy Mountains forecast district on Thursday morning, extending to parts of the Mid North Coast, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts on Thursday evening into Friday. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 am EDT Thursday.

Hazardous Surf Warning for New South Wales

Weather Situation
Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming in the following areas.
Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast and Batemans Coast

Warnings for Friday 17 January

Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast and Batemans Coast

Warnings for Saturday 18 January

Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast and Illawarra Coast

NSW Police Force, Marine Area Command advise that:
People should consider staying out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas.
Rock fishers should avoid coastal rock platforms exposed to the ocean and seek a safe location that is sheltered from the surf.
Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage.
Boaters already on the water should carry the appropriate safety equipment and wear a lifejacket.
Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or the Marine Rescue APP, and consider their safety management plan.

The next warning will be issued by 5:00 pm EDT Thursday.
