Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Myall River catchment since Friday night. Further rainfall is forecast overnight and throughout the remainder of the weekend. River levels are rising upstream of Bulahdelah, and minor flooding is likely along the Myall River at Bulahdelah Saturday evening.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is current for the Mid North Coast and Hunter Districts.

Myall River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Myall River.

The Myall River at Bulahdelah is currently at 1.50 m AHD and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Myall River at Bulahdelah is likely to reach around the minor flood level (3.00 m AHD) Saturday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT GLOUCESTER SATURDAY EVENING AND WINGHAM DURING SUNDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed in the Manning River catchment during Saturday. River level rises are occurring in the upper reaches of the catchment. Minor flooding is possible along the Gloucester River at Gloucester on Saturday evening. Further downstream, minor flooding is also possible along the Manning River at Wingham on Sunday.
Rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Saturday and into Sunday, which may result in further river level rises.
Severe Weather Warning of heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is current for Mid North Coast and Hunter Districts.

Gloucester River:
Minor flooding possible along the Gloucester River at Gloucester.
The Gloucester River at Gloucester is currently at 1.90 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Gloucester River at Gloucester may exceed the minor flood level (4.30 m) Saturday evening. The river may reach around 4.70 m early Sunday morning, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Manning River:
Minor flooding possible along the Manning River at Wingham.
The Manning River at Wingham is currently at 1.74 m AHD and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Manning River at Wingham may exceed the minor flood level (4.90 m AHD) Sunday morning. The river may reach around 6.00 m AHD Sunday evening, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed since Friday night across the Paterson and Williams River catchments. Further rainfall is forecast overnight and throughout the remainder of the weekend. River level rises are occurring along the upper reaches of both rivers. Moderate flooding is likely along the Paterson River at Gostwyck Bridge. Along the Williams River, moderate flooding is forecast at Mill Dam Falls, with minor flooding likely at Dungog.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is current for the Mid North Coast and Hunter Districts.

Williams River:
Moderate flooding is likely to occur along the Williams River.
The Williams River at Dungog is currently at 3.31 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Williams River at Dungog is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.90 m) Saturday evening. The river may reach around 6.60 m Sunday morning, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

The Williams River at Mill Dam Falls is currently at 2.91 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Williams River at Mill Dam Falls is expected to exceed the minor flood level (6.10 m) early Sunday morning. The river is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (7.60 m) Sunday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Paterson River:
Moderate flooding is likely to occur along the Paterson River.
The Paterson River at Gostwyck is currently at 4.60 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Paterson River at Gostwyck is likely to exceed the minor flood level (9.10 m) early Sunday morning. The river is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (10.70 m) Sunday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

River level rises are occurring along the upper reaches of the Peel River and its tributaries, with levels at Tamworth currently near the minor flood level (3.0 metres). The Peel River at Tamworth is expected to exceed the moderate flood level late Saturday evening, with further rises likely overnight due to forecast rainfall.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is current for the Mid North Coast and Hunter Districts.

Damaging surf this weekend

Weather Situation
A deepening coastal low pressure system off the north coast is bringing vigorous south to southeasterly winds and large, powerful easterly waves along the northern and central parts of the coast. The low is forecast to slowly move inland and weaken overnight. A second low will develop near Gold Coast waters and deepen during the weekend, bringing vigorous south to southeasterly winds and large, powerful southeasterly waves to northern NSW coasts before the low moves away to the east during Monday.
DAMAGING SURF for the following areas:
Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter and Metropolitan
LARGE AND POWERFUL SURF CONDITIONS are likely, which may lead to coastal erosion and localised damage to coastal infrastructure between Seal Rocks and Smoky Cape this afternoon, then between Broken Bay and Crowdy Head this evening, possibly locally reaching some Sydney beaches.
Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas.
These conditions are expected to ease during Sunday morning.
Locations which may be affected include Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Terrigal, Sydney, Forster, and Norah Head.
LARGE AND POWERFUL SURF CONDITIONS are likely, which may lead to coastal erosion and localised damage to coastal infrastructure between Seal Rocks and the Queensland border from late Sunday afternoon.
Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas.
These conditions are expected to ease early Monday.
Locations which may be affected include Coffs Harbour, Tweed Heads, Byron Bay, Yamba, Evans Head and Nambucca Heads.

Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage.
Boaters already on the water should carry the appropriate safety equipment and wear a lifejacket.
Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or the Marine Rescue APP, and consider their safety management plan.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system and coastal trough currently located around Port Macquarie is forecast to continue tracking southwest over the Mid North Coast this evening. This system will bring a strong east to southeasterly flow on its southern and southwestern flanks, before it weakens overnight tonight. A second low pressure system currently in the Coral Sea will then rapidly deepen offshore of the NSW and Queensland border on Sunday afternoon, bringing further strong south to southeastely flow over northeast NSW.
DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Central Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains and Northern Tablelands
For AREAS SOUTH OF COFFS HARBOUR: Strong southeasterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible over the coastal fringe for the remainder of today. DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are also possible over elevated areas today. HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is also forecast about coastal and inland parts of the Hunter, Mid North Coast and southern parts of the Northern Tablelands for the remainder of today. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 60 and 90 mm are likely, with isolated totals up to 100 mm possible about elevated areas. 24-hourly rainfall totals between 75 and 90 mm are likely, with isolated totals up to 120 mm possible about elevated areas. Winds and rainfall are forecast to ease below warning thresholds over coastal areas by late tonight, and over elevated areas by early Sunday morning.
For AREAS NORTH OF COFFS HARBOUR: Strong southerly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible about the coastal fringe between Coffs Harbour and Tweed Heads, and elevated parts of the Border Ranges, from mid-afternoon on Sunday. For the SNOWY MOUNTAINS: Southeasterly DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are possible over alpine areas above 1400 metres this afternoon, easing by the late evening.

Locations which may be affected include Coffs Harbour, Taree, Newcastle, Gosford, Port Macquarie, Scone, Kempsey, Maitland, Murwillumbah and Cabramurra.
102 km/h wind gust was recorded at Nobby's Signal Station at 4:19 pm.
95 km/h wind gust was recorded at Norah Head at 4:04 pm.
96 km/h wind gust was recorded at Kempsey Airport at 2:23 pm.
Sustained 68 km/h winds were recorded at Cabramurra around 12:00 pm, with a 93 km/h wind gust at 12:02 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Be aware that run-off from rainfall in fire affected areas may behave differently and be more rapid. It may also contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks.
* After bushfires, heavy rain and the loss of foliage can make the ground soft and heavy, leading to a greater chance of landslides.
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
* Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall.
* Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.

For the SNOWY MOUNTAINS: Southeasterly DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are possible over alpine areas above 1400 metres this afternoon, easing by the late evening.

Locations which may be affected include Coffs Harbour, Taree, Newcastle, Gosford, Port Macquarie, Scone, Kempsey, Maitland, Murwillumbah and Cabramurra.
102 km/h wind gust was recorded at Nobby's Signal Station at 4:19 pm.
95 km/h wind gust was recorded at Norah Head at 4:04 pm.
96 km/h wind gust was recorded at Kempsey Airport at 2:23 pm.
Sustained 68 km/h winds were recorded at Cabramurra around 12:00 pm, with a 93 km/h wind gust at 12:02 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Be aware that run-off from rainfall in fire affected areas may behave differently and be more rapid. It may also contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks.
* After bushfires, heavy rain and the loss of foliage can make the ground soft and heavy, leading to a greater chance of landslides.
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
* Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall.
* Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.

The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Saturday.
