MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT KATHERINE BRIDGE AND EXPECTED AT NITMILUK CENTRE FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING
Renewed moderate flooding is occurring along the Katherine River at Katherine Bridge, and expected at Nitmiluk Centre Wednesday morning.
Widespread heavy falls are unlikely, but isolated heavier falls remain possible for the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Katherine River Gorge Road:
Moderate flooding is likely at Katherine River Gorge Road.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 5.47 m and steady, with minor flooding.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is expected to exceed the moderate flood level (5.50 m) Wednesday morning. The river may peak near 5.80 m Wednesday morning.

Katherine Town:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Katherine Town.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge is currently at 16.83 m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge may peak near 16.80 m Wednesday afternoon, with moderate flooding.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.

Major Flood Warning For The Roper And Waterhouse Rivers

MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BESWICK BRIDGE
Heavy rainfall since Monday afternoon has caused river level rises along the Waterhouse River. River levels are rising at Beswick Bridge with major flooding likely this evening.
Heavy rainfall remains possible for the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Waterhouse River:
Major flooding is likely along the Waterhouse River.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 8.19 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is likely to exceed the major flood level (8.70 m) Wednesday evening. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive.

Roper River below Elsey Creek:
River levels are elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
